Huawei recently launched the MateBook D16 (2024) laptop in China featuring Intel’s 13th Gen processors. Starting midnight today, the brand will start selling the laptop in its domestic Chinese market.

The model currently on sale features Intel’s Core i5-13420H processor, which is the entry point for this laptop. It comes with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, costing 4499 Yuan ($627). The brand has revealed that the laptop will come in other options as well, including Core i5-13500H, Core i7-13700H, and Core i9-13900H, however, it is unknown when these models will be available on store shelves.

The Huawei MateBook D16 (2024) features a spacious 16-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and a brightness of 300 nits. The display is designed with narrow bezels, providing an impressive 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The laptop boasts a lightweight design, weighing just 1.68kg, and has successfully passed rigorous durability tests. It includes a dedicated numeric keypad and a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button for added security.

In terms of multimedia, the MateBook D16 offers a 1080p webcam, dual speakers, and microphones. The laptop’s touchpad supports five-point touch for enhanced usability. On the connectivity front, it is equipped with a metamaterial antenna that claims to enhance download speeds and extend the connection range to up to 270 meters. Under the hood, the laptop is powered by 13th-generation Intel Core processors, ranging up to Core i9. The Core i5 variant features Intel UHD graphics, while the Core i7 and i9 variants come with the Intel Iris Xe GPU. The MateBook D16 boasts 16GB of RAM and a spacious 1TB SSD for storage. It is fueled by a 70Wh battery cell to ensure extended usage without compromising on performance.
