Garmin has released its next public Beta version for its watches. To access the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes, users have to install the 26.85 Beta update manually. The Fenix 6 series, as well as the Enduro, Tactix Delta, Quatix 6, and Marq smartwatches, are now receiving the latest beta update from the firm.

Garmin smartwatch gains several improvements and bug fixes via the 26.85 Beta Build OTA update

Earlier this month, Garmin released some stable upgrades for the Fenix 7 and more contemporary predecessor devices. However, the absence of beta versions suggested that the company had completed its v26.xx development cycle, even if there was no comparable stable upgrade for the Fenix 6 and its competitors.

But surprisingly it released a beta update, the Beta Version 26.85, to replace the six-week-old Beta Version 26.82.

Note that just five bug patches are included in Beta Version 26.85 and they are as follows:

Change log for version 26.85 (all changes since v26.82)

1. Fixed an issue to ensure training load is properly calculated when using the Store & Forward feature on supported Garmin HRM straps.
2. Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when viewing the map on the Fish activity.
3. Fixed an issue with audio prompts on workouts not playing the correct messages.
4. Fixed an issue with auto runs on the Ski activity from not always starting on a descent.
5. Fixed an issue with auto pause on the Ski activity from improperly activating.

Also note that Garmin isn’t providing this Beta Version 25.85 as an over-the-air (OTA) update. The latest version has to be manually installed, and you can find the download links on Garmin’s forum thread.

Garmin has also not disclosed the date on which it plans to provide a new, stable update for the Fenix 6 series. But, it has been confirmed that there have been 19 changes since the latest stable version of the series, v26.00, in Beta Version 26.85:
