The new LG two-legged smart AI bot is capable of understanding context and intentions via multimodal AI technology. It is also equipped with the Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Platform for face and voice recognition. The smart home agent is also capable of processing natural language to underscore its role as an all-around home manager.
The LG smart home AI agent is part of LG’s lineup for CES 2024, as the company intends to launch the bot as an essential part of its vision of zero labor home. LG hopes that gadgets of this nature will help to reinvent the future of home automation. The design of the bot makes it capable of functioning as a home companion. It is a two-legged, two-wheeled device with a visor that could function as a screen. It has a built-in camera, speaker, and sensors that gather data around the home. The LG smart AI bot is marketed as a moving smart home hub but the specifics on the smart home standard adopted are lacking at this time. It is expected that the LG bot should support Matter just like a regular smart hub.
The LG smart home AI agent offers exciting possibilities but there are opinions in some quarters that it may just be an expensive gimmick rather than an essential gadget.
