Motorola Mobility India has appointed Mr. T.M Narasimhan as the Managing Director of the Mobile Business Group in India as part of its plan to strengthen its position in the smartphone market. This decision aligns with the brand’s objective of securing a place among the three smartphone brands in the country.

Mr. T.M Narasimhan, who brings experience in sales operations, business and financial planning, and P&L management from his roles at FMCG and consumer tech organizations like PepsiCo, Britannia, and Samsung will lead Motorola’s operations in India. He will report to Mr. Prashanth Mani, who continues to oversee Motorola’s Asia Pacific business.

Mr. Prashanth Mani emphasized the importance of India as a focus market within the Asia Pacific region. Expressed confidence in Narasimhan’s ability to play a crucial role in achieving even greater success for the team in India.

Mr. T.M Narasimhan expressed his enthusiasm about joining Motorola and contributing to the brand’s growth journey in India. He recognized Motorola’s product strategy, business model, and strong brand presence while committing to build upon its existing foundation.

Motorola has recently experienced success in India, with double-digit premium growth compared to the market, reflecting its effective strategy.
Motorola has made an impact in the premium market with the Razr 40 and the Edge 40 series, showing impressive growth in the first half of fiscal year 2023-2024.

The brand currently appears to be working on the launch of its affordable Moto G34 5G’s in India. Reports say that it could be unveiled as soon as January 9 in the country.
