Honor has launched a new smartphone in China. It is the Honor X50 GT. The device arrives as the successor to the X40 GT that debuted last year. The latest offering packs incremental upgrades over its predecessor. It seems to be a mid-range device with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8-series chipset. Read on to know what it offers out of the box.

The Honor X50 GT comes with a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout and a curved screen measuring 6.78 inches. The OLED display panel features a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The smartphone retains the same design as its predecessor with a circular rear camera module and a vertical running strip through the centre. It is SGS five-star certified drop resistance. 

The Honor X50 GT has a dual rear camera setup of 108MP and 2MP sensors. The primary sensor is said to offer 3x lossless zoom. There is an 8MP front-facing selfie snapper. 

Internally, the Honor X50 GT is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. It packs up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The device also has a 5100mm² vapor chamber for heat dissipation. The smartphone is backed by a 5,800mAh battery unit with support for 35W fast charging. Software-wise, it ships with Android 14-based MagicOS 7.2 on the top. 

The Honor X50 GT starts at CNY 2,100 ($309) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 16GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB configurations are priced at CNY 2,399 ($337) and 2,599 ($365) respectively. The top-end 16GB + 1TB variant carries a price tag of CNY 2,899 (~$408). The smartphone is offered in Midnight Black and Star Wing God Of War color options. It is up for pre-sale starting today with open sales commencing from January 9.
