Garmin, traditionally known for its GPS systems, is making waves at CES 2024 with its innovative approach to health technology. The highlight of their new lineup is the HRM-Fit, a unique heart rate monitor designed specifically for sports bras. This device, retailing at $150, represents a significant shift in how wearable technology can be integrated into daily fitness routines.

The device is compatible with a variety of renowned brands like Adidas

Unlike traditional heart rate monitors, the HRM-Fit attaches to the bottom band of a sports bra, offering convenience and comfort to its users. Susan Lyman, Garmin’s Vice President of Global Consumer Marketing, emphasizes its ease of use for activities like running or high-intensity interval training (HIIT). The device is compatible with a range of medium and high-support sports bras from renowned brands like Adidas and Under Armour.

One of the key features of the HRM-Fit is its compatibility with Garmin smartwatches. It can track and report critical workout data such as pace, distance, and stride length. Even in the absence of a watch, the HRM-Fit is capable of storing workout details like calories burned and workout intensity, syncing the data back to the watch once within range. Plus, Garmin launched new Lily 2 smartwatches at the event, more details about the same here.

Garmin’s commitment to enhancing user experience doesn’t stop at hardware. The company has revamped Garmin Connect, its online fitness community platform. The updated app and webpage now feature customizable sections like Today’s Activity, Training Plans, and In Focus. Currently available to beta testers, this update is expected to be fully rolled out later in the year.
