The Italian Instagram official page of Philips Hue has shared an image of an unreleased Philips smart floor lamp. The image was spotted by Hueblog and highlights some features of the smart floor lamp. The reason behind posting an unreleased image of the product on the official social media of Philips Hue Italia is unclear yet. The post was however advertising the brand’s New Year sales.

The Philips Hue smart floor lamp has front and rear lighting controls and features a ring at the top. The picture also shows that the front of the smart floor lamp has colored lighting, with warm lighting shining from the rear. The image points to a manually operated device with a footpress switch. However, it can also be remotely controlled via the Philips Hue app. The unreleased product is most probably the White Ambiance Semeru Floor Lamp which was first shown in 2019. The product however did not transit to a commercial product and did not go on sale at the time. Philips Hue did not provide any explanation for the decision not to sell the White Ambiance Semeru Floor Lamp.

Details of the smart floor lamp at that time indicated that it had an LED light that was dimmable and had a maximum brightness of 350 lumens. The LED light has an estimated life cycle of 25,000 hours. The white temperature range was between 2,200K and 6,00K and accommodates warmer tones, cooler, and daylight-mimicking light. Philips Hue may want to resurrect the White Ambiance Semeru Floor Lamp or its variant for release this year. It is also a possibility that the product image upload was simply a mistake since it has now been pulled down.
