The CEO and Founder of Nothing has just announced a new feature that is making its way to the brand’s existing smartphone models. Now, Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2) users can use ChatGPT as a voice assistant, so here’s how to enable this feature.
Nothing Phones receive ChatGPT Voice Assistant
In a recent tweet, Carl Pei confirmed that the AI powered assistant will be making its way to the company’s two smartphones. Owners of these devices can get access to the voice assistant, which is similar to Apple’s Siri and the Google Assistant. To use this feature, you can check out the simple steps listed below:
- Head to the Google Play Store to download and install the ChatGPT application.
- Once the app is downloaded, you can add the ChatGPT shortcut to the Quick Settings panel or add it as a widget.
- Simply tapping on this shortcut icon will run the ChatGPT powered voice assistant.
- Users can now ask questions and give voice commands to the assistant.
The senior official even shared a short video highlighting this feature on X (formerly Twitter). It is worth noting that the ChatGPT assistant doesn’t outright replace the default voice assistant on the Nothing Phone series devices. Although, using them by holding the home button or power button will no longer be possible.
Based on what we know so far, the company is also working on a new Phone 2a model as well. We can expect this phone to arrive with support for this feature as well. As the name suggests, it is a cut down version of the Phone 2 and was recently sighted on the TUV Rheinland certification.
