Philips has announced the launch of three new soundbars – the TAB6309, TAB5309, and TAB5109 – designed to pair with Philips Ambilight TVs. Each model targets different user preferences and budgets, aiming to improve the audio experience in home settings.

The premium model, TAB6309, is a 2.1-channel speaker system with a power output of 320W. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X audio formats, promising a high-quality 3D sound experience. Its notable feature is a slim profile of 37 mm, ensuring it doesn’t block the TV screen. The soundbar comes with a compact wireless subwoofer, offering versatile placement options. Connectivity options include HDMI eARC, optical digital, AUX, and USB, along with Bluetooth 5.3 and LE Audio codec for wireless streaming. The sound can be customized through the Philips Home Entertainment App or via remote control.

The mid-range TAB5309 is a 2.1-channel soundbar with a 240W output, accompanied by a wireless subwoofer. It offers similar connectivity features to the TAB6309 but does not support Dolby Atmos, focusing instead on DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Digital Plus.

The TAB5109 is the most basic model, a 2.0 channel system with a 120W output. It supports DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Digital Plus, aiming to provide an improvement over standard TV speakers. This model shares connection options with the other two soundbars.These soundbars are designed to integrate with Philips Ambilight TVs, improving the overall audio-visual experience.

Pricing & availability

The TAB5309 and TAB5109 are expected to launch in Europe in April, priced at €129.99 and €99.99, respectively. The TAB6309 will follow in May, with a price tag of €269.99. Release dates and pricing for other markets have not been confirmed.
