The Viewsonic XG272-2K-OLED gaming monitor has arrived on the US market. Viewsonic’s latest gaming monitor boasts a 27-inch display, a 240Hz peak refresh rate, and 0.02ms response time. The XG272-2K-OLED monitor is also HDR10 certified.

The new Viewsonic gaming monitor has an OLED panel with 2K display capability. The monitor is promoted as a performance powerhouse which should be exciting to gamers. It offers a wide color gamut and features USB-C connectivity. The gaming monitor can also serve as a USB hub and it has a fully adjustable ergonomic stand with RGB lighting and a built-in OSD remote.

The Viewsonic XG272-2K-OLED is a major entrant into the PC gaming market. The new gaming monitor marks the first time when OLED monitors were introduced to the mainstream market. The OLED monitor is a tad better than the 1080p LCD models. The new Viewsonic OLED gaming monitor has a 26.5-inch diagonal flat OLED panel with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. This is equivalently called 1440p, 2K, or QHD resolution.

The OLED panel delivers a more captivating output with deep black and solid contrasts. The Viewsonic XG272-2K-OLED has 100% coverage of the sRGB and 98.5% of the DCI-P3 color space. The panel can deliver a maximum brightness of 450 nits although its typical brightness is 190 nits. The maximum brightness is achieved when the gaming monitor is in HDR mode.

The monitor is equipped with the AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync to achieve a high refresh rate. The monitor comes with a decent selection of connectivity options and built-in stereo speakers. The gaming monitor’s ergonomic stand with OSD remote adds to the functionality of the model. Although the model has been announced in the US, there are no pricing and availability details at this time.
