It seems like Apple is getting more and more comfortable with OLED displays on its tablets! Market research predicts a surge in OLED iPad Pros, with shipments exceeding 9 million this year alone. Samsung and LG are gearing up to produce these displays for the upcoming iPad Pro refresh, expected between April and June. That’s mere months from now. But that’s not the most exciting piece of news from this report.

The iPad Air will utilize a single-layer OLED, while the iPad Pro has a double-layer version

Apple isn’t just stopping there. The rumor mill points towards an OLED iPad Air arriving in 2028, boasting a whole different technology compared to the Pro model. Analysts suggest the Air will utilize a single-layer OLED, while the Pro embraces a double-layer version for better performance.

Foldable iPhone

While tablets get a visual upgrade, laptops aren’t left behind. The demand for OLED laptops is projected to soar, since the displays are so much more premium and capable than LCD variants. This market, unlike tablets dominated by Apple, is expected to see wider adoption of OLED technology from various manufacturers seeking to stand out from the crowd.

Looking beyond tablets and laptops, the future might be foldable for Apple too. Analysts predict a 7-8-inch foldable iPhone gracing us in 2026. With a larger foldable canvas, Apple could perfect the technology that’s been under testing by its biggest competitors (Wink, wink – Samsung and Google) who have perfected most aspects of foldable phones. We can expect brighter, clearer visuals and potentially a brand new foldable iPhone – the future of tech is looking bright (literally)!
