Xiaomi Auto has just commenced the delivery ceremony of its first batch of Xiaomi SU7 at the Xiaomi Automobile Factory in Yizhuang, Beijing. Lei Jun, the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, opened the door of each SU7 and handed over the cars to their early owners all by himself. Today Lei Jun announced that he is going to gift an SU7 to Redmi’s general manager Wang Teng Thomas.

It depends on the success of Redmi’s new series
It came just after Redmi officially announced the April 10 launch date of its new phone, the Redmi Turbo 3. Lei Jun said that if the first sales target of the Redmi Turbo 3 is achieved, Wang Teng will be rewarded with an SU7. People on social media had some confusion regarding the reward to Redmi’s general manager. Redmi’s general manager Wang Teng clarified the significance of the sales target here.

Wang Teng also noted that the Redmi team had done a great job with the Turbo 3 and that he is confident that the phone will do well in sales, with everyone’s support. He also noted that if the Redmi team achieves its target with the Redmi Turbo 3, he will offer some benefits to the consumers as well.
Speaking of the new phone, it is positioned as a flagship killer and is the first product of Redmi’s new turbo series. This phone will equip the newly launched Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which is practically a cut-down version of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and is designed to power performance-focused mid-range devices. Images shared by the company’s official Weibo reveal that the Redmi Turbo 3 will offer flat sides with slightly contoured edges and likely a flat display.
