Menteebot, a new product by Mentee Robotics, takes AI technology to a whole new level with a human-sized robot designed for in-home or commercial use. This “personalized AI-based robot” boasts advanced AI algorithms, natural language processing, and software that facilitates “advanced training techniques.” Menteebot can walk, run, and even turn sideways, all with a level of balance and control comparable to a human. The manufacturer assures that the robot can adjust its gait for tasks like lifting heavy objects, which it can handle effortlessly due to its large size. Unlike some humanoid robots, Menteebot lacks a head, giving it a less imposing presence.

The robot can hold conversations and respond in natural language

Menteebot distinguishes itself from other humanoid robots through its advanced AI capabilities. It can hold conversations and respond to commands delivered in natural language. Furthermore, users can train the robot to perform new tasks through a unique method. Imagine a simulated version of Menteebot completing a task digitally over and over again until it’s mastered. Once the training is complete, the robot should then be able to perform the task in the real world, for instance, pouring the milk.

Menteebot appears to be quite agile, with videos showcasing its ability to run and perform a variety of movements. Its arms and hands boast a full range of motion with sufficient precision for delicate tasks, as demonstrated in a video where Menteebot carefully hands a piece of dishware to a person.

While Menteebot won’t be available until 2025, and the initial promotional materials are likely to be more optimistic than reality, Menteebot is still an impressive feat of engineering. The exact price point remains unknown. Menteebot will come in two variants: a residential model for household chores and a commercial model designed for manual labor applications.
