Vivo has launched a new Y-series smartphone in China today. The Y200i arrives as the successor to the Y100i that debuted in November last year. The latest offering comes with a new design and some incremental upgrades. Let’s find out what the device offers out of the box.

Vivo Y200i specifications and features

Design-wise, the Vivo Y200i has a flat frame with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. The back panel has a slightly textured look with a circular camera module. The phone is IP64 dust and waterproof. 

On the front, the Vivo Y200i features a 6.72-inch LCD display bearing an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,800 nits peak brightness. There is an 8MP front-facing selfie camera housed inside a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. In the optics department, the Vivo Y200i has a 50MP primary rear camera paired with a 2MP portrait lens. 

Under the hood, the Vivo Y200i is equipped with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. It packs up to 12GB RAM along with 12GB virtual RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. The smartphone draws its power from a 6,000mAh battery unit with support for 44W fast charging. Software-wise, it runs on OriginOS 4 based on Android 14. 

The Vivo Y200i is offered in Blue, Glacier White, and Midnight Black colors. It starts at CNY 1,599 (~$225) for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB configurations are priced at CNY 1,799 (~$253) and CNY 1,999 (~$281) respectively. The smartphone is up for pre-orders today with sales commencing April 27.
