In addition to announcing the sixth generation iPad Air with an M2 chip onboard during the Let Loose event, Apple also unveiled the fourth generation iPad Pro. The key highlight of the new iPad Pro is that it comes with Apple’s latest M4 chip.
Using a second-generation 3nm node, the M4 chip powers the fourth-generation iPad Pro, marking a significant leap in performance and efficiency. Compared to its predecessor, the M2, the M4 boasts a CPU that is 1.5 times faster, with graphics tasks experiencing a remarkable boost of up to 4 times. What’s particularly impressive is the doubled efficiency, allowing the M4 to deliver the same level of performance as the M2 but at half the power consumption. 2024 iPad Pro specifications and features
Available in both 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, the 2024 iPad Pro is the company’s first iPad Pro model to feature an OLED pane. The screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness of 1000 nits through High Brightness Mode (HBM). Both models come in storage options, such as 256 GB / 512 GB / 1 TB / 2TB.
The 1 TB and 2 TB variants also come in nano-texture display glass options for reduced glare. When it comes to battery life, the 11-inch model houses a 31.29Whr battery, and the 13-inch model packs a larger 38.99Whr capacity. The retail package of the device includes a 20W USB-C charger.
When it comes to photography, the 2024 iPad Pro features a 12-megapixel ultrawide front camera and a 12-megapixel rear camera capable of capturing 4K videos. Security is paramount, with Face ID providing seamless authentication, complemented by the precision of a LiDAR scanner for augmented reality applications. It features a quad-speaker setup for an enhanced audiovisual experience. The new tablet is compatible with accessories like the all-new Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard. Regarding connectivity, it offers options like USB-C 4, 5G, eSIM support, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Lastly, it comes preloaded with iPad OS 17.
The 2024 iPad Pro maintains a sleek and lightweight profile, with the 11-inch variant measuring a mere 5.3mm thin and weighing 444g (Wi-Fi) or 446g (Wi-Fi+5G), while the 13-inch variant is just 5.1mm thin and weighs 579g (Wi-Fi) or 582g (Wi-Fi+5G).
2024 iPad Pro price
In the US, the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro (Wi-Fi only) models start at $999 and $1,299, respectively. Their cellular variants cost an additional $200. The nano-texture glass variants cost $100 more.
In Europe, the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro (Wi-Fi only) editions start at 1,199 euros and 1,449 euros, respectively. For 5G, buyers need to spend an additional 250 euros and 130 euros more for the nano-texture glass.
In India, the Wi-Fi models start at Rs 99,900 and Rs 1,29,900, respectively. Their 5G versions cost Rs 20,00 more. The nano-texture glass variants cost Rs 10,000 more.
The iPad Pro comes in Space Black and Silver color options. Its shipments are slated to begin on May 15 in most countries.
