MediaTek has launched the Dimensity 8250, a new chipset targeting premium mid-range smartphones. This is essentially a refreshed version of the Dimensity 8200, with the main improvements coming in the field of AI.

The 4nm chip boasts an octa-core CPU with a single high-performance Arm Cortex-A78 core clocked at 3.1GHz. It also integrates a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for smooth visuals and an APU 580 for enhanced AI processing.
The Dimensity 8250 boasts impressive camera capabilities, supporting high-resolution sensors up to 320MP and stunning 4K 60fps HDR video recording. It seamlessly drives high refresh rate displays, reaching 120Hz for WQHD+ resolutions and an incredible 180Hz for Full HD+ displays.
Connectivity is top-notch with a fully integrated 5G modem delivering download speeds of up to 4.7Gbps. It supports the latest WiFi 6E standard and Bluetooth 5.3. The chipset also includes support for India’s NavIC navigation system alongside global options like GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, and QZSS.
The OPPO Reno 12 is rumored to be the first smartphone to pack this powerful chipset. We can expect this chip to also power other future mid-range devices as well.
