Tecno has announced the Camon 30 series smartphones in India today. The lineup includes the Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G. The latter arrives as the successor to the last year’s Camon 20 Premier 5G. The latest Camon 30 duo have some key differences between each other. The Premier 5G is a mid-range model under the Rs 40,000 price segment. Read on to know what the devices offer out of the box.
Tecno Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Premier 5G specifications
The Tecno Camon 30 series smartphones have identical designs with a flat frame and a circular protruding camera module. The back panel has a folder icon-like design that gives professional camera-like vibes. The Camon 30 5G features a marble-texture glass finish whereas the Camon 30 Premier 5G has a suede leather finish.
On the front, the Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G boast a 6.79-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The standard model has FHD+ resolution with 1,200 nits peak brightness whereas the premier comes with a 1.5K resolution and 1,400 nits peak brightness. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner on both devices.
In terms of imaging, the Tecno Camon 30 5G has a dual rear camera setup of a 100MP main sensor with OIS and a 2MP depth lens. The triple cameras on the Camon 30 Premier 5G include a 50MP main Sony IMX890 OIS sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope unit with a 70mm focal length and up to 60x hyper zoom. The phone also features a Sony imaging chip and AIGC portrait mode. Up front, the Camon 30 duo have a 50MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood, the Tecno Camon 30 5G is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor whereas the Camon 30 Premier 5G is powered by a Dimensity 8200 Ultimate. The former is offered in up to 12GB + 512GB variant whereas the latter comes in a sole 12GB + 512GB RAM and storage configurations. Both smartphones are backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 70W fast charging. Software-wise, they ship with Android 14 OS with three years of guaranteed OS updates and security patches.
The Tecno Camon 30 5G starts at Rs 22,999 for the 8GB + 128GB whereas the 12GB + 256GB option costs Rs 26,999. The Camon 30 Premier 5G carries a price tag of Rs 39,999 for the sole variant. The smartphones will be available for purchase from Amazon starting May 23. There is Rs 3,000 instant discount for ICICI Bank credit cardholders on the Camon 30 series. Additionally, Tecno is also bundling a free smartwatch on the purchase of both devices.
