The Lenovo ThinkPlus 65W Gallium Nitride (GaN) charger has been unveiled in China. The charger offers 65W charging and features three charging ports. The ThinkPlus 65W GaN charger has a compact design and its ports consist of two USB-C and one USB-A interface.

The Lenovo ThinkPlus 65W GaN charger delivers 65W charging speeds via its two USB-C ports while the Type-A port has a maximum of 22.5W charging speed. When all three ports of the GaN charger are used simultaneously, the two USB-C ports give a combined power of 40W while the USB-A gives 20W. The Lenovo ThinkPlus 65W GaN charger has eight layers of safety features. These include over-current, over-voltage, extreme temperature, short circuit, and over-power protection.

The new Lenovo ThinkPlus charging brick supports multiple protocols for improved compatibility. These include PPS, QC3, and PD3. You can use the GaN charger to charge different laptops including the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10, MacBook Air M1, and MacBook Air M2. The Lenovo ThinkPlus 65W charging brick is similar in performance to the Anker 735 Nano II which retails at $39.99 via Amazon.

Pricing & Availability

The Lenovo ThinkPlus 65W GaN charger is priced at 99 yuan ($14) in China. Color options available for the GaN charger include black and white. Lenovo has not provided any global availability information yet for the new Lenovo GaN charger, as well as its international pricing. It is however expected that the Lenovo ThinkPlus 65W GaN charger will be available in a sprinkling of overseas markets at the least subsequently.
