A new leak from Weibo suggests Huawei is preparing new wearables, the Watch 5 Series, which could launch later this year alongside the Mate 70 smartphone.
Tipster Fixed Focus revealed that the Watch 5 Series will feature a different design compared to the previous model. The software is also expected to receive upgrades.
The tipster claims the wearable will have a “new system,” likely referring to HarmonyOS NEXT. Huawei is currently developing this new version, with its launch expected on June 21.

Details on the specific features and functionalities powered by the new OS remain unknown. Apart from this, the tipster didn’t share much about the Huawei Watch 5 Series.
As a reminder, the Watch 4 Series garnered attention as the world’s first non-invasive high blood sugar monitoring smartwatch. It featured a 1.5-inch LTPO sapphire display encased in titanium, with various watch faces for customization.
Despite its size, the Watch 4 Series was praised for its lightweight design. It offered over 100 workout modes and tracked health metrics like heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), stress, skin temperature, and arterial stiffness.

Battery life varied depending on the version. The Standard model offered 3 days, while the Pro extended that to 4.5 days under typical usage. An “ultra-long battery life” mode could stretch endurance to 21 days. Connectivity features included eSIM support for calls and LTE 4G for data, along with fall detection for safety.
While the new leak provides a glimpse into the potential features of the Watch 5 Series, official details remain undisclosed. We will have to wait for further information from Huawei to confirm the launch date, specifications, and pricing.
