Synology has unveiled two new home surveillance cameras, the FC600 and BC800Z, offering users additional options for securing their properties. Both cameras are designed to work seamlessly with Synology’s NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices, allowing users to store surveillance footage locally for added security and privacy.
While the FC600 has a fisheye lens, the BC800Z has a zoom function and 8MP sensor
The FC600 camera boasts a fisheye lens and a 6MP sensor, capturing a comprehensive 360-degree panoramic view of your surroundings. This makes it ideal for monitoring large indoor areas, like living rooms or hallways. The camera also features infrared low-light shooting for clear visuals even in dimly lit conditions. An interesting addition is the built-in call function, but specific details on its functionality haven’t been revealed yet.

The BC800Z takes a different approach, equipped with a zoom function and an 8MP sensor for capturing high-resolution, 4K video footage. This camera is well-suited for outdoor surveillance, offering sharp visuals for identifying details. It also boasts impressive weather resistance with IP67 and IP66 ratings, making it waterproof, dustproof, and capable of withstanding harsh environments ranging from -30°C to 60°C. Additionally, it meets the IK10 certification for impact resistance, ensuring durability against physical impact.
While both cameras offer promising features for home security, specific details regarding their launch date and pricing remain unknown. For those interested in a local storage solution with NAS compatibility, these Synology cameras are worth keeping an eye on for future announcements.
