Ubisoft kicked off their 2024 preview conference with a bang, showcasing a thrilling 13-minute gameplay demonstration for Assassin’s Creed: Shadow. Set against the backdrop of Japan’s Warring States period, the game seems like a trip, with dual protagonists and diverse combat options.

Gamers can play as a skilled ninja and a powerful samurai

Players take on the roles of both a skilled ninja and a powerful samurai, offering a fresh approach to the series’ combat. This flexibility allows you to choose between stealthy maneuvers favored by ninjas or the direct, head-on approach of a samurai.

The gameplay retains the series’ signature blend of open-world exploration, street brawls, and strategic stealth mechanics. The video depicts how NPCs react differently to your chosen character; crowds scatter in fear of the samurai, while bowing respectfully as they pass.

Ubisoft highlighted the game’s core concept: “Two different assassins, two completely different combat modes! Choose the way to achieve your goals at will, and write a new legend in the Japanese Warring States Period!”

Assassin’s Creed: Shadow is slated for release on November 15, 2024, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. As per reports, the game’s availability on Mac and iPad thanks to information revealed at Apple’s WWDC24 conference. This wider platform reach extends the Assassin’s Creed experience to a broader audience.
