Fujifilm has officially announced the launch of their new GFX100S II medium format camera, arriving on June 16th. This camera boasts a powerful “GFX 102MP CMOS II” sensor with a staggering 102 million effective pixels, working in tandem with a high-speed “X-Processor 5” image processing engine. The GFX100S II carries a price tag of 36,500 yuan (approximately $5,430 USD).

The GFX100S II features a G-mount and boasts a compact and lightweight design. Measuring roughly 104mm tall and 87mm wide, it weighs approximately 802 grams (without battery or memory card), making it the lightest model in the GFX series.
The GFX100S II is equipped with a 43.8mm×32.9mm GFX 102MP CMOS II sensor with a primary color filter, capturing a remarkable 102 million effective pixels. This high-resolution sensor is paired with the X-Processor 5 image-processing engine, promising exceptional image quality and performance. The camera’s ISO sensitivity ranges from 80-12800, expandable to 40-102400 to handle a variety of lighting conditions.
The GFX100S II features an AI-intelligent subject tracking and focus system, ensuring sharp and accurate results. For composing and reviewing shots, the camera boasts a high-resolution 5.76 million pixel electronic viewfinder (EVF) with 0.84x magnification. Photographers can explore a wide range of creative options with the GFX100S II’s 20 film simulation modes. The camera offers a continuous shooting speed of 7.0 fps to capture fleeting moments. Additionally, the GFX100S II is equipped with a robust 8.0-stop five-axis image stabilization system to minimize camera shake and ensure sharp images.
The GFX100S II caters to videographers as well, offering 4K / 30P 4:2:2 10bit recording capabilities. It also supports ProResRaw and BRaw formats for professional editing workflows. For storage, the camera supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards compatible with UHS-I and UHS-II standards.
The GFX100S II is powered by an NP-W235 Lithium Battery and offers wireless connectivity via Bluetooth 4.2 low energy and Wi-Fi 6. For wired connections, the camera features a Type-C (USB 3.2 Gen2x1) port and an HDMI output. Built to withstand demanding environments, the GFX100S II is dust-and-splashproof. The camera body also features a “BISHAMON-TEX” skin texture for a secure and comfortable grip.
