Three new smartwatches have been added to the Suunto lineup, as well as a new wristband. The new models come with an extensive collection of features and functionality. The smartwatches are limited-edition and were released to commemorate the UTMB World Series. They are the Suunto Vertical, Suunto Race, and Suunto Race S special edition models.

The Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) is a grueling and challenging ultramarathon. It has a distance of about 170 kilometers and thousands of meters of altitude. The extreme altitude conditions of the mountain marathon make it a challenging route. The trail requires strong navigational tools and the Suunto Vertical, Race, and Race S special edition models provide such platforms.

Training sessions can be accurately recorded when using the smartwatch models. They also offer extensive evaluation of training progress and performance improvements. They support the use of maps and navigation even when mobile networks are not available. There are several smart functions on the smartwatches for controlling music playback and sleep analysis, amongst others. The new limited-edition Suunto smartwatches come with an extensive suite of exercise and health monitoring features.

The Suunto Vertical Special Edition is priced at $449, the corresponding Suunto Race S model is priced at $349, while the Suunto Vertical retails at $629. The limited-edition models are priced higher than the standard Suunto smartwatches. Suunto is also offering a themed silicone wristband for $49. The wristband is a special-edition offering as well but it remains to be seen how its price will impact its demand.
