Crucial, a consumer brand under Micron Technology, has launched a new M.2 NVMe solid-state drive, the P310. Designed for portability and performance, the P310 comes in a compact 2230 form factor and offers capacities of 1TB and 2TB.

The P310 utilizes a PCIe Gen 4 x4 interface with a DRAM-less controller

According to Crucial, the P310 is ideal for handheld gaming consoles, mini consoles, and ultralight laptops. It boasts compatibility with popular devices like the Valve Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, certain Microsoft Surface models, and the Gigabyte Aorus Mini.

The P310 joins the Western Digital WD_BLACK SN770M as one of the few recently released M.2 2230 consumer SSDs. It utilizes a PCIe Gen 4 x4 interface with a DRAM-less controller (PS5027-E27T) co-developed by Micron and Innodisk. This configuration allows for sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,100 MB/s and 6,000 MB/s respectively, along with random read and write IOPS of up to 100,000 and 1,200,000.

Independent tech publication AnandTech reports that the P310 employs Micron’s own 176-layer 3D QLC NAND flash memory.
