Users on social media went crazy yesterday after netizen Matthew Karolian posted a zoomed-in image of Mark Zuckerberg‘s earlier photo, revealing two pairs of glasses. Zuckerberg responded cryptically, hinting at “more information later this year.”

This has fuels speculation further ignited by Mark Zuckerberg’s interview with YouTuber Kallaway. In the interview, Zuckerberg confirmed Meta’s imminent release of new AR smart glasses before the end of 2024. He even hinted that Meta is nearing completion of a product prototype.
Industry observers point to the company’s history as evidence. The company unveiled its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses at the annual Meta Connect conference last year. With the next Meta Connect just around the corner in September, all signs point towards the reveal of new AR smart glasses this year.
