Vivo has recently launched the vivo Y18 and Y18e in India. Now the company has quietly added another model to the series – the vivo Y18i. Being positioned as an entry-level device, this phone boasts an HD+ LCD display and a Unisoc chipset, the Unisoc T612. This is paired with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a big 5000mAh battery.

However, with extended RAM, the phone allocates 4GB of unused ROM space to be used as the system memory. The display reaches a peak brightness of 528 units.
This phone comes in two different colors – Gem Green and Space Black. Speaking of the design, it comes with flat sides and rounded corners. On the back, the phone equips a dual (13 MP + 0.08 MP) camera system within two circular camera modules, and the flash is located outside. The camera system reportedly equips Vivo’s “Suter Night Algorithms” which enhances the brightness and vibrancy of the images in low-light situations. You can see a representation below. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie shooter inside the water drop notch. According to the company, a nanometer-scale coating on the back panel offers a unique texture and a “glass-like transparency”.

The phone supports 2 nano SIMs or 1 microSD / Single SIM (Mexico). It weighs 185g and is 8.39mm thick. Besides offering a big battery this phone also supports the company’s smart charging engine 2.0, which reportedly learns the charging habits and smartly provides the optimal charging strategy to slow down battery aging during charging.
The vivo Y18i is also IP54 dust and water-resistant, which means it should handle water splashes and rain. Nonetheless, there’s always a chance of water damage and you should never expose your device to water intentionally.
Pricing and availability:
The phone is priced at Rs 7999 and is available for sale on the company’s website and other e-commerce platforms.
