Xiaomi, the global tech giant, has expanded its product lineup with the launch of its first electric grinding pen under the Mijia brand. This tool caters to a wide range of applications from wood carving to jade polishing.
The pen is now available for crowdfunding on Xiaomi Mall and Xiaomi Youpin. The crowdfunding begins at 10:00 AM on July 31, with a suggested retail price of 199 yuan ($27) and a special crowdfunding price of 169 yuan ($23).

The Mijia electric grinding pen features a slim and portable design, making it an ideal companion for detailed work. The pen measures just 2cm in diameter and is crafted from anodized aluminum alloy, which provides a lightweight and comfortable grip. Weighing approximately 310g, it is easy to handle and transport, thanks to its compact and matte-textured storage box.
Equipped with a brushless hollow cup motor, the grinding pen can achieve speeds up to 22,000 RPM, allowing efficient performance in carving, grinding, polishing, and drilling tasks.
The pen supports both lithium battery and plug-in modes, alleviating any concerns about battery life. It houses an 800mAh lithium battery that can operate continuously for up to 60 minutes on a full charge. For prolonged usage, it can also function while plugged in, ensuring uninterrupted work sessions.
User interaction is straightforward with the one-button power on/off feature and a knob for speed control, making it accessible even for beginners. Accessories can be easily installed and removed without needing a wrench, simply by unscrewing the pen tip.
The electric grinding pen comes with an automatic pop-up storage box that neatly organizes its 16 high-quality grinding heads, each with a 2.35mm shank diameter. These grinding heads include a wool brush, twist drill bit, diamond grinding head, grinding wheel head, rubber grinding head, and wool grinding head, all designed to pop up neatly when the box is opened, providing easy access and eliminating the hassle of searching through a cluttered space.
Additionally, the pen features a soft rubber wrap around the grip for enhanced comfort and a sturdy ABS storage box for durability. Its anti-roll design prevents the pen from rolling off surfaces, adding to its practicality and user-friendliness.
