As scheduled, Realme has introduced the Realme 13 Pro and 13 Pro+ smartphones in India. These new smartphones come with many improvements over their predecessors. They have an improved processor, better cooling, and better camera sensors, along with many other upgrades.
Display and Design
Both the Realme 13 Pro and 13 Pro+ feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED display with ultra-narrow bezels and 2160Hz PWM high-frequency dimming. The displays offer up to 2000 nits peak brightness for clear visibility in bright sunlight. They include Realme’s Pro-XDR technology that enhances photo effects with better dynamic range and brightness. The display supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
The design of these phones is inspired by Claude Monet’s artwork, available in Monet Gold and Monet Purple for the glass back panel, and Emerald Green for the vegan leather option. The high-gloss AG glass, with the Miracle Shining Craft, creates a shimmering effect.
The dimensions of the phones are as follows:
- Glass back models: 161.34×73.91×8.23mm; Weight: 188g (13 Pro) / 190g (13 Pro+)
- Vegan leather models: 161.34×73.91×8.41mm; Weight: 183.5g (13 Pro) / 185.5g (13 Pro+)
Additionally, the devices are dust and splash-resistant with an IP65 rating.
Performance and Cooling
Both models are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. They feature a 9-layer cooling system, including a 4500mm² tempered VC and 9953mm² graphite, to keep the devices cool during intensive use.
Camera Capabilities
The Realme 13 Pro+ features a 50 MP rear camera with a Sony LYT-701 sensor ( f/1.88 aperture) and OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture along with a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 periscope telephoto camera (f/2.65 aperture) offering 3x optical zoom and up to 120x SuperZoom.
The Realme 13 Pro includes a 50 MP LYT-600 sensor (f/1.88 aperture) with OIS and an 8 MP (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide camera. Both models have a 32 MP front camera and AI features like Ultra Clarity, Smart Removal, Group Photo Enhance, and Audio Zoom.
Battery and Charging
Both phones come with a 5200mAh battery. The Realme 13 Pro+ supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, reaching 50% in 19 minutes and 100% in 49 minutes. The Realme 13 Pro offers 45W SuperVOOC fast charging.
Software and other features
The devices run on Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0. Realme promises two major Android OS updates and three years of security updates. Connectivity options include 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C.
The phones have an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, along with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio.
Pricing and Availability
The Realme 13 Pro is available in three variants: 8GB + 128GB for Rs. 26,999, 8GB + 256GB for Rs. 28,999, and 12GB + 512GB for Rs. 31,999. The Realme 13 Pro+ is priced at Rs. 32,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model, Rs. 34,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model, and Rs. 36,999 for the 12GB + 512GB model.
Sales start on August 6th, with early bird sales on July 30th from 6 PM to 12 AM. Pre-booking opens on July 31st. Launch offers include Rs. 3000 off with ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and SBI Cards, up to 12 months of no-cost EMI, and a 30-day free replacement guarantee for devices activated before August 12, 2024.
