We have three earbuds from NOTHING, the NOTHING Ear, the NOTHING Ear 8, and the CMF earbuds by NOTHING. You know, NOTHING has always surprised by exquisite design, and this time they put the excellent design into the affordable models.
Nothing ear
So first , let’s unbox the Nothing Ear. This one is actually the third generation of the lineup, and I think it has improved a lot. But although you see that there are nothing, you know, quite improved in the design, but I still think this is very unique. And enough talking, let’s unbox this one.
Now let’s open the box. As you can see, the earbuds are in the center and let’s get it out. As for the accessories, nothing there. And I think it’s underneath here. Now we have four ear tips here, From small to large. And we have another C to C cable. This one is not transparent, but still, Very good looking, very aesthetically pleasing. It has a little Nothing logo on it. All right, let’s put it aside. right on the top, you can see that it can be paired up with the Nothing X app, which we will showcase later.
We have the CMF phone here, and we will try to pair this earbuds with the phone later. All right. All right, so this is the Nothing Ear and it is actually the third generation in the lineup. And I wouldn’t say they are that different in the overall design from the previous generations,but still very unique. And what we got here is the black one, I would call it. And the first thing I noticed is that there’s a dent here on top. And also there are two bumps at the bottom. So I think they are used to accommodate the unique shape of the earbuds.
For example, on the top, this thing will make sure that the earbuds stay in places, And these two bumps at the bottom is used to accommodate the special shape. And this one, I think, is a magnet to hold the case in place. Now let’s open it up. You know, whenever you open, you know, or try on some Nothing products, you always see the Nothing font because they are all over the website and all the, you know, marketing materials.
This one is no difference. For the earbuds themselves, you can see that they are also quite unique design and transparent shell and also black theme color.Right on the surface, you can notice two things. there are very few metal parts on the surface. Because they are transparent shell, you can always see the components inside. But generally, they are really good looking.
The second is that on the left, You will see that this one indicates that this is for the left ear and the red dot indicates that this is for the right ear. This is actually a very thoughtful design. To pair them up, there’s a white dot and a red dot in the case. So to make sure that you will never put them in the wrong place. This is actually a very thoughtful design. This is actually the first time I’ve tried them on.
So yeah, let’s put them on. All right. I think the wear and comfort is quite good because they are not long, they are not dragging your ears down,and also the stem is not in the way actually. And even they are not paired up with the phone, the noise cancelling is kicking in. Now let’s try to pair them to the app to see what will happen.
Once you take these earbuds out and you have the phone ready, they have the automatic connection. It will try to identify the devices near the phone. Let’s update later. And in Noise Cancellation, you can also try to set it into different modes, like High, or Adaptive. I will just leave it for the High for now.
Let’s try the transparency. When I set it to the transparency mode, there’s just a little notification. It’s not like a transparency, you know,the earbuds read to you transparency mode. It’s like a breathe, a breathe sound. It’s just like a very noticeable breathe sound, actual breathe sound to let you know you’re in the transparency mode. This is actually, Very fresh to me. I’ve never experienced that before. Very thoughtful design. Noise cancellation. another different sound to let you know you are in the noise cancellation.

Nothing Ear(a)
next up we have the Nothing Ear(a). This one is kind of an affordable option other than the Nothing Ear, the high-end one. But this one still keeps some of the iconic design and also some of the highlights or the special features for the Nothing Ear.Now let’s unbox this one. Still a simple strap here to unbox it. still the same box design as the Nothing Ear. the box is a little bit smaller, but still a boxy design. At the back, you can see this little metal hinge and Type-C port.
Let’s open it up. Right up, you can see that they share a very similar design with the nothing ear. And compared to that one, other than the difference in the cases, this one has moved the button inside the case. All right, let’s take them out.
you can see these transparent shell and I would say the difference between them is the dots, This one has theBlack at the left and red at the right side. first impression, I think they are the same. On paper, they both have 45 dB noise cancellation, and from my personal experience, I think they are the same.Other than the noise cancellation, the wearing comfort is still very good, so I wouldn’t complain about that. And other than these key features that you want from earbuds, they are the same.
There are maybe some sacrifices on the transmission protocols or some of the codec. If you truly want the high-end one, go for the nothing ear. So let’s check them out. okay now this is a very refreshing design because this is very orange i can say and it’s relatively small a little bit thick i would say but still you can hold it in hand very comfortably and this wheel is not meant for a press or anything rather you can rotate it like this and as you can seeThere are two holes here, And you can attach a lanyard here so you can hook it up on your neck and then you can go out. People can definitely recognize you on the streets.
All right, let’s open it up. All right, about the earbuds, they are not bulky at all and the refreshing color really represents your characters. And the beans here, I think they are quite similar to the nothing ears,but we will put them side by side to show you the difference. Now the print here, they are the same at the bottom here, as you can see. But on the top, as you can see, these are actually the touch area. On the left, it’s not a full dot, but on the right, it’s a full dot or let’s say this is a circle, this is a dot. So these are the touching areas.
And for the beans themselves, they are quite similar, Now let’s put them on to see the wearing comfort. I cannot feel anything wearing them. So now I’ve connected the earbuds to the NothingX app. And as you can see, there’s only one level of noise canceling in here, but you’re still not missing the transparency mode.
