Xiaomi is expected to announce the Xiaomi 15 series of smartphones in October this year. Like in recent years, the “Ultra”-branded model in the series will have a dedicated launch in 2025. For reference, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was unveiled in February of this year. Therefore, it has been speculated that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra may go official around the same time in 2025. However, a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the 15 Ultra might launch earlier than expected, possibly to compete with “Ultra”-branded smartphones from Samsung and Oppo.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s January 2025 launch tipped

In the above Weibo post, DCS is reportedly hinting at the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s launch in January 2025. This strategy is likely aimed at gaining a larger market share in China.
Rumors are rife that Oppo will unveil the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, in January 2025. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, equipped with an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, is also expected to break cover in the same month. Additionally, there’s a possibility that the Honor Magic 7 Ultimate, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, may also debut around the same time. However, there are no concrete leaks yet regarding the Ultimate variant of Magic 7. With the Xiaomi 15 Ultra now rumored to launch in January, it is set to directly compete with these flagship devices.
