Amid intensifying competition in the global electric vehicle market, Xiaomi’s performance is drawing significant attention. On Oct. 1, the company announced that its sales in September surpassed 10,000 units, marking four consecutive months of achieving this milestone. This sets a solid foundation for its delivery target of 20,000 units in October, as stated by Xiaomi Group founder Lei Jun during a live broadcast on CCTV.
Setting ambitious targets

Since its launch in April, the Xiaomi SU7 has carved out a niche in the market, competing with Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y. The SU7 stands out due to its affordability and innovative technology. Reports indicate that September deliveries reached between 15,000 and 16,000 units, reflecting growing consumer recognition and trust in the Xiaomi brand.
If the October target is met, the weekly delivery rate could reach 5,000 units, highlighting the pressures on production lines. Nonetheless, Xiaomi’s strategic flexibility and adaptability have allowed the company to turn challenges into opportunities.
To enhance production capacity, Xiaomi has implemented several innovations in its factory layout and manufacturing technologies. From smart manufacturing to automated processes, ongoing technological optimizations have significantly boosted production efficiency.
