In a statement on October 8th, Casio expressed regret for the inconvenience this has caused to its customers and stakeholders. The company is actively investigating the incident with help from external specialists to assess the extent of the breach and whether any personal or sensitive information was affected. Casio has reported the cyberattack to the appropriate authorities and is taking steps to prevent further unauthorized access to its systems.

The cyberattack has not only caused service disruptions but has also delayed the release of new G-Shock watch models, including the GMC-B2100AD-2A and GMC-B2100D-1A, which were set to launch on October 18th in Japan. The company has not yet provided a new release date, stating it will be announced once the situation is resolved.

Additionally, the attack may impact the launch of the second Casio Watch 50th Anniversary limited series, which features the G-Shock GMC-B2100ZE-1A. Although the company has not confirmed this, the timing of this release could be affected.

Currently, no group has taken responsibility for the cyberattack, and the motive behind the breach is still unclear.

In other news, Casio is launching two new G-Shock Full Metal models in October: the GM-B2100SD-1A and GMC-B2100ZE-1A. The GM-B2100SD-1A features a hybrid analog-digital display, Bluetooth connectivity, solar charging, and improved readability with a darker grey background. The GMC-B2100ZE-1A, marking Casio’s 50th anniversary, has a black ion-plated bezel with gold accents, Bluetooth, and solar charging.
