Samsung is finally pushing the first update of the Galaxy S24 FE globally. A couple of days ago, the brand’s latest budget flagship phone received its first ever update but this was limited to only the European and African regions. This update has since rolled out in India, and now, even the USA. So here’s what we know so far.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE October 2024 Update
The South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy S24 FE update is rolling out on Verizon’s network in the US. Although, the software upgrade is set to come on other carriers and unlocked variants soon. Just like last time, the update is bundled with the October 2024 security patch and carries the firmware version S721USQS2AXI5. This is a minor update so there’s no major new features or changes arriving with this software upgrade.

However, Samsung is probably gearing for something much larger soon. As we near the end of the year, the release of the next generation Android 15 OS is right around the corner. The company’s upcoming 2025 flagships, the Galaxy S25 series, are expected to debut with this new version of Android. Samsung offers its devices with its One UI custom skin, and the next iteration is the One UI 7.0. This major update will be arriving on the Galaxy S24 series, namely the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, along with the latest Fan Edition model.
So the October 2024 update arrives just ahead of the One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S24 FE. This would also be the budget flagship phone’s first major OS update. To recall, Samsung has promised to offer seven years of firmware updates on the Galaxy S24 FE. To check if you’ve received the update, head to Settings then go to Software Update and hit Download and Install.
