Recently, Wang Teng Thomas, General Manager of the Redmi brand, shared exciting insights about the upcoming Redmi K80 series, set for release at the end of the year. According to Wang, the latest Redmi flagship models have undergone significant upgrades in terms of positioning and specifications, moving beyond just performance to include enhanced features that surpass those of competitors who have already launched their products.
Redmi K80 Pro’s price may increase significantly
To recall, the Redmi K70e, K70, and K70 Pro were priced at 1,999 Yuan (~$285), 2,499 Yuan (~$355), and 3,299 Yuan (~$465), respectively, at launch. Speculations are rife that the Redmi K80e, K80, and K80 Pro will be powered by the Dimensity 8400, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipsets, respectively.

Thomas mentioned in a Weibo post that he has thoroughly reviewed the details of the upcoming flagship products from Redmi. He noted that this generation features significant upgrades in both positioning and specifications, emphasizing that it is not just about performance, but also other aspects. The “xxxx” text in the Weibo post hints at a potential price hike. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Redmi K80 series is expected to face a price increase, with the Pro version likely to see a significant rise.

MediaTek recently unveiled the Dimensity 9400 chip, which will be seen powering the Vivo X200 series and Oppo Find X8 lineup launching later this month in China. Soon after the announcement of the chip, Thomas confirmed that Redmi would also launch a Dimensity 9400-powered smartphone without disclosing anything else about the mysterious device. This chip may power the Redmi K80 Ultra planned for next year.
According to reports, the Redmi K80 Pro may remain exclusive to the Chinese market. As far as the Redmi K80e and K80 are concerned, these devices are likely to get rebranded as the Poco X7 Pro and the Poco F7 in 2025 for the global market.
