At the MWC 2024 event held in February, Tecno unveiled the Pocket Go, a new gaming device that combines a handheld console with AR (augmented reality) glasses. This approach makes the Pocket Go stand out from other handheld gaming consoles. After much wait, the brand has now made the device available for pre-order through Kickstarter.

Tecno Pocket Go features
The Pocket Go includes a wireless controller similar to an Xbox controller and a pair of AR glasses called AR Pocket Vision. Running on Windows, it offers a flexible gaming experience. Tecno highlights that the Pocket Go is more compact and lighter than other Windows-based handhelds, making it easy to carry.

Powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840 HS processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, the Pocket Go offers strong performance. It also features a replaceable 50Wh battery and an efficient cooling system.
The AR Pocket Vision glasses have a 0.71-inch micro OLED screen that can project a 215-inch display from six meters away. With adjustable diopter settings and compatibility with prescription glasses, the AR glasses are designed for user comfort.
Tecno promises a 6D gaming experience with the Pocket Go, featuring vision tracking, adaptive posture, and precise vibrations.
Pricing & availability
The Pocket Go and AR Pocket Vision glasses are available for pre-order on Kickstarter, starting at $869. Shipping is expected to begin in December 2024, with higher prices for the devices outside of Kickstarter in November. In other news, Bitmo Lab has launched the GameBaby, a mobile accessory for retro gaming on iPhones. It functions as both a protective case and a gaming controller, offering physical buttons for playing classic emulator games. The case can switch between gaming and standard use, and it uses capacitive touch control, requiring no power or connection to the phone.
