Casio is launching the G-SHOCK Urban Utility series, introducing four models that combine durability, functionality, and eco-friendly materials for today’s urban consumer.

Models and Design Features
The series includes two main model types: the classic DW-5610UU and the more advanced GA-B2100LUU. Both lines focus on resilience while using environmentally conscious materials. Each model features biomass plastic for the bezel and bands, aligning with Casio’s sustainability goals.

The DW-5610UU, available in green and gray, features a layered bezel design and an inverted LCD display for easier reading in low-light conditions. It also includes a Super Illuminator LED backlight for enhanced visibility.

The GA-B2100LUU models, available in beige and gray, feature a two-tone, dual-molded bezel that adds visual depth. They include a carbon-fiber-reinforced case, which provides durability while keeping the watch lightweight.
Tech and Functionality
The Urban Utility series includes practical features for everyday use. Both models have shock-resistant structures and a Carbon Core Guard for added resilience. Water-resistant up to 20 ATM, these watches are suited for both rugged activities and daily wear.
The watches also include Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to sync with the “CASIO WATCHES” app for automatic time adjustment and other features. Users can access World Time for up to 300 cities, reminders, and a phone finder function. Both models use Tough Solar technology for solar charging, and with the power-saving mode, the watches can run for up to 18 months without solar exposure.
Pricing & availability
The G-SHOCK Urban Utility series will launch in Japan in November 2024. The DW-5610UU models will be priced at 15,400 yen (about $101), and the GA-B2100LUU models will retail at 25,850 yen (approximately $170). Details about their global availability are still under wraps.
In related news, Casio has released the limited-edition Casiotron TRN-50ZE-1A to celebrate 50 years since the original Casiotron, the world’s first digital watch with an automatic calendar, debuted in 1974. The watch features a black and gold color scheme, a stainless steel case and band, with gold accents.
