REDMI launched its performance-oriented K80 and K80 Pro phones on November 27 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chips respectively. Now Xiaomi has officially announced that REDMI K80/Pro refreshed the K series’ first-sale record, exceeding 660,000 units in one day (statistical time is up to 24:00 on November 28, 2024).
RDMI K80 / K80 Pro specs and price:
The entire series is equipped with a 2K 6.67-inch screen consisting of customized M9 luminous material. This is paired with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor (on both models), which is an upgrade from the optical fingerprint sensor of the predecessors.

On the inside, both phones now house much bigger batteries – 6000mAh on the K80 and 6550mAh on the K80 Pro, up from 5000mAh of the predecessors. Surprisingly, this year’s Pro model, despite housing a massive battery, supports 90W wired charging, down from 120W of its predecessors (at least on paper).
As for the cameras, the K80 Pro now boasts a 2.5x telephoto (50MP), up from 2x of its predecessor. The ultrawide also has 32MP resolution, up from 12MP of the K70 Pro. So you can expect sharper images whether you want to zoom in or out.
The standard model is a lot similar to its predecessor though, with a 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide. REDMI has ditched the useless 2MP macro camera making a better use of your money and the space inside.
In terms of in-hand experience, despite packing a massive jump in battery capacity, both phones weigh almost the same, thanks to the new Si/C battery technology. Besides sticking to the flat design, the company has also opted for a circular camera module this time around.
The 12GB + 256GB version of the REDMI K80 and K80 Pro is priced at 2,499 Yuan ($346) and 3,699 Yuan ($511) respectively.
