The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be Xiaomi’s next major phone for the Chinese market. The device has already received 3C certification, indicating that it will launch in the first quarter of 2025. To be precise, the 15 Ultra is expected to launch after the 2025 Chinese New Year, which means it may debut in February in China. To recall, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s Chinese variant packed a 5,300mAh battery, whereas its global version came with a slightly smaller 5,000mAh battery. A new leak suggests that Xiaomi may have significantly increased the 15 Ultra’s battery capacity.

In a previous leak, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station expressed dissatisfaction with the battery size of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s engineering prototype. However, in a new leak, he claimed that the hardware shortcomings of an upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite phone have been addressed without specifying its name. Chinese publications are speculating that the company may have resolved the battery size issue of the 15 Ultra by offering the largest battery ever on a Xiaomi flagship.

To recall, the Xiaomi 14 Pro from last year featured a 4,880mAh battery, whereas the 14 Ultra (Chinese variant) came with a 5,300mAh battery. To put into context, the Xiaomi 15 Pro houses a massive 6,100mAh battery, which indicates that the 15 Ultra may offer a larger or at least the same-sized battery as the 15 Pro.

The 3C certification of the device suggests that the 15 Ultra may support 90W fast charging. In addition, it may also offer 50W wireless charging support. With a couple of weeks remaining before the 15 Ultra’s launch, it is likely that the rumor mill will provide more accurate leaks about its battery size and other specifications. Therefore, it is advisable to wait for further updates.
