The performance-centric OnePlus Ace 5 series is set to debut in China on December 26. The phone has now appeared on the company’s official website revealing its color options: cyan, titanium, and black. Notably, the cyan variant will feature a premium ceramic back panel, while the titanium and black variants will come with a traditional glass back. This diversity in materials adds a layer of sophistication to the lineup, appealing to a wide range of users.

The official renders also confirm the shift to a flat design with a flat display, alongside the iconic circular camera island on the back, which houses a triple-camera setup. While OnePlus has not provided detailed specifications for the cameras, leaks suggest a 50 MP primary sensor, paired with an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro lens. This combination aims to deliver versatility in photography.

Display and performance expectations

Rumors indicate that the Ace 5 will sport a 6.78-inch BOE X2 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. This ensures smooth scrolling and an immersive visual experience. The flat panel design, coupled with premium materials like ceramic and glass, hints at a blend of aesthetics and functionality.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 5 is confirmed to run on a custom-tuned Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This processor, tailored for enhanced gaming and multitasking, positions the device as a performance powerhouse. The Ace 5 Pro, a more advanced sibling in the series, will reportedly feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite (like the flagship OnePlus 13), catering to those seeking even higher performance.

Global launch and availability

The global release of the OnePlus 13R is scheduled for January 7, 2025, though it’s unclear if the color options will remain the same for the OnePlus 13R. With its compelling blend of style, performance, and gaming capabilities, the OnePlus Ace 5 is poised to make a strong impression on the market in 2025.
