Samsung might be working on a nifty feature for its Galaxy smartphones. A new patent sighting has revealed that the company might be using artificial intelligence to bring a new weather changing wallpaper feature. So here’s everything you need to know.
Samsung Galaxy AI Wallpaper With Weather Changing Effect
The patent was spotted by 91Mobiles at the United States Patent Application Publication. Looking at the patent filing, Samsung has a unique take on wallpapers that bring both form and function. The South Korean tech giant’s new AI powered wallpaper can apparently change the background design that changes based on the time and weather of the day. There are even sketches of this wallpaper that showcase the idea in practice.
We can see the wallpaper change automatically based on the time of the day like dawn, morning, afternoon, evening, and night. Thanks to weather detection, this feature may change the background from sunny, foggy, cloudy, rainy, or snowy, based on the current weather in the users’ area. This function might likely include integration with a weather tracking platform. Notably, the patent images also revealed that the feature will push out an alert that suggests users to carry an umbrella if it detects rain.
Finally arriving at the AI bit, Samsung would employ Generative AI to read the image/wallpaper background to identify the area, its time, and the weather. It can then generate modified images to reflect the changes in time and weather on top of the original background. This is a pretty unique concept that might add an intuitive layer to wallpapers. Although, it is still in the patent phase so it’s still unclear if the company is actually working on such a feature.
