Casio Japan has announced two new G-Shock models, GD-010CE-5JF and GA-010CE-2AJF, designed with a focus on durability and sustainability. These watches will be available in January 2025, with the GD-010CE priced at ¥17,050 ($110) and the GA-010CE at ¥20,350 ($132).

The main resin parts, including the case and bezel, are made from biomass plastic, helping reduce environmental impact. The bands are created from CORDURA re/cor, a strong material made using recycled Cordura and PET yarn. The bands are dyed using FOOD TEXTILE’s process, which turns food waste into natural dyes. The GA-010CE’s band is colored with dye from red turnips, while the GD-010CE’s band uses echinacea dye. This process results in soft, natural colors and unique textures.

Both models are built for reliability and offer a 10-year battery life, achieved by combining a large-capacity battery with efficient power use. The carbon core guard structure ensures strength while keeping the watches lightweight. They are water-resistant up to 20 ATM (200 meters) and include LED lights for visibility in dark environments—on the dial for the GA-010CE and the LCD for the GD-010CE.

The watches also feature world time for 48 cities, a stopwatch, a timer, five alarms (including one with snooze), and a fully automatic calendar. A needle retraction function helps improve LCD readability, and users can switch the operation sound on or off. The Neo Bright coating adds extra visibility.
