Last month, Motorola unveiled the Moto G05. The device made its way to India a couple of weeks back.

It is currently the most affordable Moto G series smartphone. Priced at ₹6,999 (~$80), it offers an interesting set of features though it is limited to 4G.

The device stands out among the limited options in the entry-level range. Let’s go through why that is so in this article.

1. Look and Feel

The Moto G05 looks like any other Motorola smartphone as the brand follows a common design language across its products. This makes it feel premium as it resembles more expensive handsets from the company.

The vegan leather finish on the back further enhances the in-hand feel. In India, the device is offered in two Pantone-validated colors, namely Forest Green and Plum Red.

Despite being an entry-level smartphone, it flaunts a centered punch-hole display. All these factors together make it look and feel more premium than it actually is.

2. Nails the Basics

The Moto G05 sports a 6.67-inch LCD screen with a centered punch-hole and HD+ resolution (1604 x 720 pixels). The best part about this panel is its 1000 nits peak brightness level.

There’s probably no other phone in this segment with such a bright screen. The display also refreshes at a 90Hz rate.

Further, the handset comes with dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Lastly, it is backed by a 5,200mAh battery with support for 18W charging.

3. Useful Add-ons

The Moto G05 arrives with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics. It also comes with a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

On the rear, the handset features a 50MP quad-pixel main camera. Apart from portrait mode, the camera app also offers night mode.

As for software, the Moto G05 is the only device in its segment to boot Android 15. It offers a near-to-stock Android experience along with 2 years of security updates.

Finally, the product is IP52-rated for splash resistance and its touchscreen can be operated even while being wet.
