We are just hours away from Samsung‘s first Galaxy Unpacked event in 2025, where the company will unveil its Galaxy S25 series. Now well-known tipster @chunvn8888 claims that the 16GB variant of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will hit the shelves in only four Asian countries: India, South Korea, China, and Vietnam.

While 12GB RAM is not by any means insufficient, many people waiting for the best of Samsung in 2025 won’t have the option but to import with extra cost or compromise slightly on performance.

More RAM is useful for on-device AI processing

The performance gap becomes more significant as you interact with the on-device AI models, which is one of the key selling points of the Galaxy S25 series. In fact, Apple had to increase the RAM to implement Apple Intelligence on the recent iPhones.

And there’s no denying that the 12GB version of the S25 Ultra will be relatively inferior to the 16GB version when it comes to playing a heavy title, running resource-intensive apps like a video editor, or trying to manage multiple things at once.

Although the tipster didn’t reveal the reason behind this decision, it will surely sadden consumers outside the above-mentioned countries, planning to upgrade to the 16GB variant.

As for the raw CPU and GPU power, the device packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It outpaces the Galaxy S24 Ultra‘s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 both in terms of performance and power efficiency. Although the battery capacity remains the same, the efficiency improvement suggests an improvement in battery life as well.

For those who were expecting a 6000mAh or larger battery, the shift is reserved for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The 2026 flagship will also equip a 200MP periscope telephoto, claims renowned tipster Digital Chat Station.

In a nutshell, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to offer improved performance within a chassis that is more comfortable to hold.
