Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy: Performance

The Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy features second generation custom Qualcomm Oryon CPU along with a new Adreno GPU, and Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU for improved on-device AI functionality. This improvement in AI technology would likely improve the capabilities of the Galaxy AI suite of features.

With the deeper integration of AI, both companies have tailored the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy with the latest Gemini powered features. Apart from AI, even the raw performance is getting a bump thanks to the two prime cores having a 4.47GHz clock speed. To recall, the regular version has a 4.32GHz frequency.

Snapdragon Satellite and Wi-Fi 7

One of the latest inclusions in the new chip is the global support for Wi-Fi 7 standard thanks to the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System and Snapdragon X80 Modem-RF System for 5G connectivity. But more importantly, the Galaxy S25 series are also the first commercial smartphones to feature Snapdragon Satellite. For those unaware, this technology basically allows users to send and receive messages directly via satellite (narrowband NTN).

Improved Image Quality

Another upgrade in the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy is with its ISP. Samsung worked with Qualcomm to improve image quality thanks to the integration of the new Spatio-Temporal Filter (STF) into the Qualcomm Spectra ISP. This allows for sharper low light video capture capabilities, with upgrades being noticeable even in the 8K 30fps recordings. Despite this, Qualcomm claims that it has bumped its energy efficiency as well.
