Back in November 2024, LG launched the UltraGear GX7 (27GX790A), a record-breaking 480Hz QHD OLED gaming monitor in some markets including the US. The monitor is now also available to buy in China.

LG UltraGear GX7 features
The GX7’s standout feature is its 480Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms Gray-to-Gray (GTG) response time, making it the fastest QHD (2,560 x 1,440) OLED monitor currently available.

Powered by LG’s WOLED technology, the monitor offers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and an infinite contrast ratio. It is certified with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, resulting in exceptional HDR performance, while its 98.5% DCI-P3 color gamut ensures accurate color reproduction. The monitor has an AGLR coating that reduces glare and reflections in well-lit environments.
The GX7 features a minimalist design with a virtually borderless 27-inch screen, maximizing immersion. Its ergonomic L-shaped stand saves desk space and provides a range of height, tilt, and pivot adjustments for optimal comfort during extended use.
Key gaming features include NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which eliminate screen tearing and stuttering for smoother gameplay. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1, future-proofing the setup for high refresh rates and resolutions. Additionally, a 4-pole headphone jack with DTS headphones delivers 3D spatial audio.
Pricing & availability
The LG GX7 model “27GX790A” comes with an 8,499 yuan ($1,173) price tag in China, and is available to buy through JD.com. In the US, the monitor is priced at $1,000.
