Apple might finally be launching its very own foldable device soon. A new rumor has hinted that the brand’s first ever foldable iPhone or foldable iPad might be arriving as early as next year. So here is everything you need to know.
Apple may finally launch a foldable device in 2026
While various popular Android competitors like Samsung have already released multiple generations of foldable smartphones, the Cupertino based giant has yet to make any announcement for a similar device. But in the news shared by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman on his recent Power On newsletter, Apple could be planning on launching its first foldable model as early as next year.
It is still unclear what form this upcoming flexible device will take and whether it will be a foldable iPhone or a foldable iPad. The company might also announce a brand new product line of foldable gadgets as well. There are also rumors that point at the Mac lineup getting a foldable model as well. However, Gurman adds that these foldable Macs are still more than a couple of years away. Meanwhile, even the foldable iPhone is reportedly facing quality control issues.
In other words, the foldable iPhone is the most likely to debut in 2026. Back in December 2024, we also covered a report regarding how Apple’s first foldable iPhone might be a notebook style “Fold” rather than a clamshell folding “Flip” model. Known analysts also claimed that Apple may unveil a foldable MacBook sometime in 2026, but Gurman’s latest report hints otherwise.
