Oppo has expanded its O+ Connect feature to Mac with the launch of the Oppo Find N5, which offers seamless file sharing and a remote desktop experience for macOS users. Originally introduced with ColorOS 15 on the Oppo Find X8 series, O+ Connect made it easier for Oppo devices to interact with iPhones and iPads.
Now, Mac users can also enjoy smooth cross-device connectivity, making it easier to manage files and even control their Mac remotely.

Oppo’s O+ Connect for Mac: cross-platform made simpler than ever
With O+ Connect for Mac, Oppo Find N5 users can view, move, search, and delete files on their phone directly from their Mac or MacBook. Unlike traditional file transfer methods, this feature lets users access their phone’s files without copying them, which means you can browse through recent photos or documents on your Mac in real-time.
Notably, O+ Connect for Mac does not require your data to be uploaded to a server. All the data sharing happens between your phone and Mac and you only need to connect them to the same Wi-Fi network.

Aside from photos or videos, you can also access notes and documents without touching your phone. File transfers are also fast—Oppo claims that 100 photos can be moved from the phone to the Mac in just 8 seconds.
Remote Mac Control
O+ Connect for Mac isn’t just about file sharing—users can also control their Mac from this Android foldable. The foldable phone’s 8.12-inch inner display offers a full-screen macOS view, or users can fold the phone at 90 degrees for a more ergonomic experience:

- The top half of the screen displays the Mac desktop.
- The bottom half becomes a touchpad, supporting Apple’s multi-touch gestures.
- Alternatively, the bottom half can be used as a keyboard.
Oppo even showcased a split-screen mode, where users could drag a file from macOS and drop it directly into WhatsApp on their phone, making file-sharing incredibly intuitive.
Oppo has also announced an upcoming update for O+ Connect for Mac, which will allow users to access files stored on their Mac directly from the phone’s Files app—eliminating the need for a remote desktop session for basic file transfers.

While it may seem like just another feature on an Oppo phone—one of the Chinese brands with a much smaller market share than Apple or Samsung in the US and many other global markets—this is actually a significant development. It lets Apple users experience innovation without sacrificing the core functionalities of Apple’s ecosystem.
