Oppo has expanded the availability of its A5 Pro smartphone beyond China, but the global variant features significant hardware compromises compared to its original December 2024 release.

Oppo A5 Pro features

The global A5 Pro swaps the Chinese variant’s MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset for the older Dimensity 6300, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage (expandable to 1TB via microSD). Its 6.67-inch LCD screen reduces both size and quality from China’s 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel, offering a lower 1604 x 720p resolution despite retaining a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000-nit peak brightness.

Camera specs mirror the Chinese version: a dual rear setup (50MP main + 2MP depth) and an 8MP front shooter. The device retains IP66/68/69 dust and water resistance, military-grade MIL-STD-810H durability, and 360° drop protection. However, its battery shrinks from 6,000mAh to 5,800mAh, though 45W wired charging remains. The phone measures 184 x 75.3 x 7.76 mm and weighs 194 grams. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Color options include Flower Pink and Mocha Brown.

Pricing & availability

Pricing starts at NT$7,990 (about $243) in Taiwan for the 6 GB + 128 GB version, while the 8 GB + 256 GB variant costs NT$9,490 (around $290).
