Rockstar has rereleased Grand Theft Auto for the billionth time. But this time, it is “Enhanced”. The studio has released a massive update that brings various upgrades to take advantage of the PC’s extra horsepower and make other improvements for the GTA Online mode as well. So here’s everything you need to know.

GTA V: What does the 90GB update offer?

With the GTA V Enhanced Edition, even the system required is getting a bump. The recommended specs now include at least an RTX 3060/Radeon RX 6600XT with an Intel i5-9600K/Ryzen 5 3600. Among the various changes made to the game, the primary upgrade is to the visuals and graphics settings. The 12 year old game now supports ray tracing, upscaling support with AMD FSR 1 and 3 and Nvidia DLSS 3.

Improved load times thanks to DirectStorage support. Apart from the visual side, there are also improvements in the audio with Dolby Atmos support. This update is available across Story Mode and GTA Online, however HDR is still missing. In the GTA Online mode, there is a new Career Builder feature along with an upgraded anti cheat as well. PC players can even sign up for the GTA+ membership now.

The Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced Edition update is free for those who already own GTA 5 on PC. But you will need to buy the legacy version for this update. GTA V’s rerelease is already live as of 4th March 2025. If you already own the base game, the enhanced version is available on Steam and Epic Games.
