HMD has just announced a brand new flip phone in the Indian market. But it isn’t one of those clamshell folding phones. The HMD Barbie Phone is a classic flip phone that features Barbie’s iconic hot pink color scheme along with the old keypad format. So let’s check it out.
HMD Barbie Phone Specs
The company’s new Barbie Phone was previously announced in the global market earlier this month. While HMD had confirmed its Indian availability, we still had no details regarding its pricing in the region. This model sports a 2.8-inch main QVGA display and a 1.77-inch cover screen. Under the hood, it is equipped with the UNISOC T107 chipset that is paired with 64MB RAM and 128MB internal storage.
Users can even expand storage by up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. The Barbie Flip Phone runs on the S30+ operating system. A 1,450mAh battery pack powers this device, which promises to offer up to 9 hours of talk time. For optics, the rear features a VGA camera with an LED flagship. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5, FM Radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type C port, and an MP3 player.
Pricing and Availability
The HMD Barbie Flip Phone was announced in India for a 7,999 INR price tag. This is an official collaboration and features a large Barbie branding on the back. You also get a Barbie inspired interface along with pre-installed apps such as Malibu Snake, Barbie Meditation, and Digital Balance Tips.
